Chef Joe Isidori Has Opened a Fourth Arthur & Sons Location
Acclaimed Michelin Star Chef/Restaurateur Opens New Restaurant in Midtown
New York, NY – Joe Isidori, acclaimed Michelin star chef, restaurateur and founder of Arthur & Sons, has announced the opening of a fourth location of the popular restaurant in Midtown Manhattan at The Pod 39 Hotel (145 East 39th St.). As with the flagship West Village and Hamptons locations, the new Arthur & Sons outpost is an homage in both menu and design to Chef Isidori’s experience growing up in New York’s restaurant business, transporting guests back to the 1990s with “old school” Italian American red sauce classics and a space that speaks to his early influences.
“When I opened the first location of Arthur & Sons, it was exciting to have the opportunity to make the kind of food that is so much a part of who I am, and the response to these restaurants has been even more gratifying,” says Joe Isidori. “Now I’m really looking forward to bringing the party – and the West Village vibe – to Midtown.”
Named in nostalgic tribute to his family’s three generations in the New York restaurant industry, the new 1500-sq. ft Arthur & Sons location at the Pod 39 Hotel seats 90 guests and is centered by a spacious 20-seat bar. Open for lunch and dinner and equally perfect for after-work cocktails and small bites, the restaurant serves Isidori’s classic Italian-American dishes made with the highest quality ingredients. The Midtown menu offers the dishes that have become customer favorites, with starters such as the Eggplant Stack, Baked Clams Oreganata, Artie’s Garlic Bread with Cheese, house specialties including Chicken Parm, Veal Valdastano and “macaroni” dishes such as Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka, Ravioli alla Nonna, and Cavatelli with Broccoli Rabe & Sausage. A new lineup of salads on the menu includes Artie’s Chopped Salad, Arturo’s House Salad with Italian Vinaigrette & Gorgonzola, My Grandmother’s Tomato & Cucumber Salad, and Joe’s Caesar Salad with Shaved Parm. For dessert, guests can enjoy the incredibly popular house-made classic frozen Spumoni My Way, as well as Cannoli and Tiramisu.
For perfect pairings, the cocktail menu offers twists on favorites such as The Sophia Loren, a
classic shaken pina colada with coconut & amaretto, Hazelnut Old Fashioned (bourbon, frangelica, bitters, cherry, orange peel), and the Limoncello Drop (Tito’s vodka, limoncello, fresh lemon, demerara sugar). The restaurant’s wine list features a small and focused selection of twelve to eighteen wines and five house wines by the glass ranging in price from $16-$19, with bottles available from $75-$300.
True to the retro aesthetic at the other Arthur & Sons locations, the new restaurant blends past and present with vintage Tiffany-style lights, plush red banquettes, nostalgic family photos, and classic portraits, all complemented by John William Codling’s Pop Art images. The playlist will remain an upbeat mix of Frank Sinatra, Motown, hip-hop, and Michael Jackson, creating a lively, inviting atmosphere. And to bring a taste of Arthur & Sons home, guests will also be able to purchase Chef Isidori’s new line of signature red sauces in Marinara, Alla Vodka, Fra Diavolo, and Spicy Vodka varieties.
